Bio: 
Andrew A. Sanchez Garcia is a Ph.D. student with a B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His project aims to contextualize the relationship between the Mexican American communities and the military beyond actual service and on the developments of Mexican American communities within California’s Central Valley, central Colorado and northern New Mexico. This study will explore the transformation of these societies during increased military development in relation to gender, race, and class with a focus on labor. He works under the guidance of Professor David Torres-Rouff.
