Bio: 
Ekta Kandhway is a doctoral student of Interdisciplinary Humanities in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts at UC Merced, where she is working alongside Dr. Arturo Arias. She received her B.A. (2013) and M.A. (2015) in Spanish Language and Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and earned her M.Phil. in Latin American Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi India. Kandhway is a scholar of Spanish language and literature and specializes in studying indigenous literature and culture from Latin America. Specifically, her research focuses on studying the representation of nature in Quechua cultural expressions in comparison with dominant western understandings of nature. The aim of this research is to contribute to the discourse of ‘other knowledges’, ecological conservation and sustainability.
