Bio:
Laura Gomez is a third-year Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Humanities, working under Dr. Mario Sifuentez. Her work seeks to recuperate the community history of farm worker labor camps in the Salinas Valley. Exploring the relationship between labor, race, and space, her research interests include western history, labor history, CRES, memory studies, and family studies.
Currently, Laura is the Chair of the Latinx Graduate Student Association a student-led academic collective while also serving as IH Graduate Representative for Admissions and Fellowships.
