Sharim's International Acclaim Continues to Grow

El Ojo Comienza en la ManoProfessor Yehuda Sharim's latest work, "El Ojo Comienza En La Mano" (The Eye Begins in The Hand, 2022), is the winner and finalist of more than seven international awards, including the Best Short Film 2023 at Rockport Film Festival, Oregon Documentary Film Festival (finalist) and Royal Anthropological Institute (finalist). It was featured in more than 60 film festivals worldwide, including the Silver Wave Film Festival, Ethogram (Paris), Rochester International Film Festival, Latino Film Festival in both San Diego and Philadelphia, Ethnofest (Athens) and Royal Anthropological Institute (London), to name a few.

Sharim has been an artist-in-residence at the Obama Institute for Transitional American Studies - Mainz Universitat (2023-2024), and through his work with the Coalition for Justice, Virginia (2023-2024). The latter was supported by a generous $100,000 gift from the Henry Luce Foundation.

Sharim's photo-essays were published through the UC Humanities Research Institute, with a new interview is about to released shortly.
