Parental Leave
At the time of birth, new parents are granted two (2) weeks off from coursework without penalty but can be required to makeup missed work. If medical issues arise, the two-week period can be extended. New parents have the right to take an Incomplete in any IH course they are enrolled in and are granted 6 months from the end of the semester to complete course work. These Incompletes will not preclude students from registering in courses requiring a perquisite during the semester after becoming a new parent.
This is for academic matters, and is separate from any medical leave covered by the TA or GSR contract.
Incomplete Grade
Students have thirty (30) days from the last day of classes to complete course work for which they earn an Incomplete.
