Joy Omeiza is a Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Humanities at UC Merced. She holds a B.A. and an M.A. in English, and her research interests include Critical and Linguistic Stylistics, Literary Aesthetics, Peace/Conflict Rhetoric and African Refugee discourse. For her master’s research, she investigated the ideological inclinations of Nigerians on the proposed Rural Grazing Area (RUGA) policy in Nigeria, contributing to the enhancement of subsequent conflict management strategies in Nigeria’s delicate socio-political scene. Her Ph.D. dissertation focuses on examining refugee representation in Post-Colonial African literature and the media. Her ardor for literary aesthetics and creative writing is a notable facet of her intellectual engagement, and she is proudly an alumna of the 2023 Institute for World Literature at Harvard University.
