The Anthropology program at UC Merced encompasses three of the subfields of anthropology (sociocultural, biological, and archaeological anthropology) that entail humanistic, social scientific, and natural scientific approaches to knowledge of humankind past and present. In this research area, Anthropology & Heritage Studies faculty train anthropologically oriented graduate students in diverse courses that incorporate perspectives of anthropology, the arts, history, language, and literature.
